Canon S520 service error EC00
My Canon S520 started making some grinding type noises in the middle of a job and now won't do anything. Noise sort of seems like it's coming from where it grabs the paper on the right side(not by the print head ... I can slide that out of the way, but it won't move on its own). Green and orange light blink 1 time alternately. Reset doesn't work, I tried turning the printer off and back on, makes the grinding noise three times and then stops and the lights blink. By computer shows Service Error EC00 and says to turn off and back on, but this did not work obviously. Anyone know what could be wrong and how to fix? Is it dead?

I don't have a cure for the grinding, since I don't have access to a tech manual on that printer, but it kinda sounds like a bad gear. It's not hard to take apart. Four small holes for access to the locking tabs, located at the back and sides next to the back. Just push in with a medium size slotted screwdriver, starting with the tabs on the back. Once the top case is off, you can inspect it and go from there. If you decide to trash it, I'd love to get it from you, since I can't get my logic board to reset.
