Samsung CLP600 power problems

My question is hardware-centric....thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light.
When my CLP600 started giving a fuser low temp error, I bought a replacement fuser unit from the bay. When I installed it and flicked the printer on, it tripped the mains circuit in the house. I complained to the seller who duly sent a replacement.
I put the old fuser back in the printer and found that it turns on fine and shows the error message. Now when I put the replacement fuser in and flicked the printer on, there is no life. It didnt trip the mains this time. I put the old fuser back in again and powered up but once again, dead.
The fuse in the mains plug is okay, I used different power cables and sockets. I am lead to believe it must be the PSU or an internal fuse that has gone bust which may or may not be related to the ebay fusers (which came BNIB).
Is it easy/cheap to source and replace the PSU, for someone of average technical ability?
Is it worthwhile getting it fixed at a printer specialist (as opposed to buying another one)?
Could the new fusers have caused this?
