Looking for a good quality laser printer?

Currently my office has two Lexmark C544dn's and we are entirely not pleased with them. I have been tasked with getting new printers that don't have so many problems, but I don't know a whole lot about laser printers. Our price range I think is somewhere between $500-$1000, I may be able to get above that a bit if I can justify it to my boss, but definitely can't go above $1500. Here is what we need:
Color Laser
We print approximately 3000-4000 pages per month and need something that can hold up to that. The Lexmark we had recommended 800-3000 pages per month, I think this is why the keep having issues.
Toner is also a huge problem with the Lexmark; We need to have color available but mostly print black and white. I know some of the printers do some color blending in their black ink, but this has been causing us to have to replace our color cartridges far too often... almost as often as the black cartridge in fact! We need something that won't burn through our color toner when printing black. We end up having to replace all of the toner cartridges about once a month as it stands. Most of what we print is nothing more than packing slips and UPS or FedEx labels. Occasionally we print a photo here and there, but they don't need to be super high quality.
Those are the two main points but the printer also needs a network port. Most everything else is negotiable.
The model I have been looking at as a possibility for replacement is the HP CP4025n, any thoughts on this? If you have another model in mind, please let me know. I will choose a favorite answer when I decide on which printer to get.
Your help is much appreciated.

The consumer website below (Consumer Search) collects and consolidates reviews for all types of products and makes recommendations based on their analysis of various reviews.
Below are two links to their listings/reviews of printers with the specifications you mention.
(Within the first link, scroll down 3/4 of the page, past the Consumer Search Products Guide square, to see their list of printers).
You may also want to look into Consumer Reports...the last time they reviewed a wide spectrum of printers was in their December 2009 issue. They also publish a yearly 'Electronics Buying Guide' which includes printers. Both of these (the magazine and the Electronics Buying Guide) should be available at your local public library.
Or, for $5.95/month (auto-renewing, but you can cancel at any time), you can subscribe to their online version, which offers a full ratings/report on many types of printers (with many search filter options):
Hope this helps,
