Just bought a MFC-7360N. When in copy mode and putting document in feeder document comes out with 4 vertical stripes, the one on the left is in bold or two lines very close. When document placed on inside window (platen?) no stripes occur.

Thanks Ralph for the updates, now as you are still getting the lines, when you are copying a white blank sheet that, means the problem is with scanner lamp of the ADF unit, the lamp can be replaced at home, with the help of a service manual, which I can help you to find, but the main problem is that, if you do that at home then, your warranty will be void and you will not get replacement of the printer from Brother anymore, as every new printer has a one year warranty or guarantee, as this is a brand new printer, the printer will be replaced by the store, after 10 or 15 days, you have to contact Brother for the replacement and that will take more than 15 days.
As this is a brand new printer, you can also check for any packaging material inside the ADF unit, because that can also cause this problem.
Please let me know, if you want to repair the printer, otherwise please remember to give rating for my time and effort.
