Ilford papers coming back?

There is a full-page ad in the latest RPS journal which says that Ilford papers are coming back on the market. The ad says that the re-launched range will include GFS, GMS Smooth Pearl and Smooth Gloss. It also says that they will have a stand at photokina. Good news for many photographers - not so good for competitors who have rushed out alternatives to GFS etc!

there is a long thread on LuLa about this. The short answer is 'world-wide' but it will take some time in order to get all the product into distribution and the spectral responses and manufacturing is very close to the 'original'. I'd guess that it will get even closer as they get manufacturing experience.
Howard,
The other spectral measurements show that it is a haphazard resemblance between old and new Ilford paper production and I only measured the paper white spectral reflection, not how the coating interacts with the inks. The Ilford Gold Fiber Silk is in my opinion now produced by Felix Schoeller like the baryta quality available from Hahnemühle. There are more suppliers with a similar quality. The Smooth Pearl RC paper is a new version of the old one with most resemblance to the old one on the spectral plot but Gloss and Duo, the other ones of what used to be a family are different on the spectral plot. The sample book I got was also a different range of papers than Ilford had in production before the collapse.
The spectral plots of the old Ilford production are in the obsolete map of SpectrumViz and can be compared with the new ones in the other maps.
Met vriendelijke groet, Ernst

Do you know if that is a global return of Ilford papers, or in Europe only?
They were very popular in North America and I would be happy to see them return.

As someone once said:  Now shipping press releases IN VOLUME.
When I can buy it and it is the same or close-enough, then 'they'll be back'.  From my understanding, the actual factory was dismantled so this will be interesting.
