Hey All: The carriage occasionally comes to a
quick, squealing stop and locks up when tabbing
forward(without any preset tabs), or during
carriage return. I've tried cleaning and lubing
rails with triflo, lubing carriage motor, related
pulleys and bearings, removing all possible
obstacles such as ribbon, print wheel, platen
roller, and paper pan while also holding paper
rollers away from carriage but with the same
result. I've also tried both loosening and
tightening carriage drive belt tension with no
joy. Could this be a carriage motor gone bad and
if so, is there a possible way to repair it? If
not, who do you recommend for purchase/repair of
one.
Thanks in advance!!

Hi:
If you have done all that and the c/r motor is still making noise and jamming up then the motor is the culprit and needs replacement. you can get one from EBM in Lexington, KY at 1-800-832-6522.
