this post was editedSky, I can get the multiple pages to work but so many other things, not at all.|
When I scan to ftp it creates a file AND A FOLDER I can't rename or open, so the jpg scans are actually unusable or viewable.
The scan to network FTP created a folder named:
Outside, YES OUTSIDE, that folder sits my scan file called: 110714135404/img-110714135404-001.jpg (this is not the folder then/ file name, this is the file name) ..and do you think my computer will open a file with a /slash/ in the middle of it, or even let me rename it so I can put up with this mess and get on with my work? NO!
When I scan to email it says SMTP error even though I know the settings are right. I have tried several email accounts and even created a new POP account, because it needs POP, (I use IMAP not POP) just for this purpose. Nada! (I'm wandering if these settings also will not resolve names and need only IP addressees, oh dear!)
When I add a new FTP account for scan to network or server, even though the settings are correct, the http web management app will say: Incorrect settings. Please check the settings for following items. Server Address:Login Password.
I then go to the computer address book app and it adds the new FTP account fine as long as it doesn't have to work with a name in the server address.
When I use a name (ftp.exampledomain.com) in the FTP account it won't work and just beeps away saying: Name resolve error. It works fine when I use an IP address, which is OK if you are not FTPing into your NAS with a DDNS name because your IP changes regularly.
I can't scan normally, like a normal scanner using scan imaging software tools, unless I plug in the USB and disconnect from the wifi, WHAT IS THE POINT OF A NETWORK PRINTER then!!?? There is no software to even scan with, you need to use the computer's inbuilt scan tool!
The instruction manual is barely usable and does not explain or assist with all the above issues. It's very basic and does not go into detail.
I contacted Aussie support about the software, no reply, 4 days and counting.
When I go to any fujixeroxprinters.com.au xerox.com fxprinters.com.hk website, my printer is not listed and is not supported.
I trusted Fuji Xerox to produce a quality machine, and honestly, they did, but what use is it if they can't get the software to work, or even provide you with any. This is an unfinished project!
Wouldn't it be nice if I could buy something and only spend a very short time setting it up, have it work as it's supposed to and then get on with my work.
Was I stupid in assuming this printer would have software like any other network printer that would, well, scan and print and do normal stuff?
