Digital fax?

Post time: 2013-5-15 10:10:10 |Show all posts
The last few months there were some postings about the problems of using analog faxes on digital internet phone lines such as MagicJack and Vonage.
I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a digital fax machine available that takes care of these issues.
It would be nice if there was a gadget that converts the analog signal into a digital signal so that, for example, you could use a credit card machine on a MagicJack line.

'Agree with has been NO
anything will be HALF a answer
since fax is TWO machines OR TWO locations one of the Two will screw up any patch cure.
If all Fax were on equal footing and specs sure, but one guy has VOIP one had good line one had spliced 50 times internal lines, one has DSL, One has two way radio on the power source, One has HAM radio in back yard stepping on the line data ARC welders, even COFFEE POTS etc
ETC ETC
NO matter how well you solve your customer problem the numerous people on the other end can mean there will ALWAYS be some problems with some of his locations he sends or receives from.

Well, a fax modem turns digital signals into analog tones, but the days of analog lines are withering on the vine. You could try to upgrade your customer to en email based fax solution, or train them to use email.
